Pergola size calculator

Measure the usable patio area first. We compare your width and depth with verified product dimensions and return only products the current evidence says can fit.

Plan your patio to scale

Enter usable space in feet, choose a documented freestanding footprint, and move your furniture. Example furniture sizes are editable; replace them with your own measurements.

Use positive measurements up to 100 ft. Exclude setbacks, walls, steps and fixed obstacles before entering the usable area.

Enter both dimensions to see the plan and documented fits.

A footprint fit does not confirm furniture clearance, base plates, post spacing, roof movement, circulation or anchoring. Verify those dimensions in the exact installation manual. This planner screens freestanding kits only; use the Finder for wall-mounted options.

Measure usable space

Use the area the structure can actually occupy, after walls, gutters, steps, pool edges, setbacks and other fixed obstacles.

Check actual dimensions

A 10x10 label is not necessarily exactly 120 by 120 inches. The calculator relies on actual dimensions when they are verified.

Then verify installation

Physical fit is only the first gate. Confirm post locations, base plates, anchoring, local requirements and access before ordering.

What this calculator does — and does not do

The result is a physical-footprint screen, not a permit or engineering approval. A pergola can fit inside the width and depth you enter and still need additional clearance for post bases, drainage, doors, gutters, utilities, furniture circulation or local setbacks. We keep those questions outside the numerical fit result because the requirements are site-specific.

When an exact outside dimension is missing from our current source evidence, the product is not promoted as a verified fit. It can appear separately as an evidence gap so you know what must be confirmed before purchase. This prevents a nominal “10x12” or “10x13” label from being treated as a precise installation footprint. Measure twice and compare the exact outside dimensions before placing an order.
